Ho’i i Ka Hale 2025

Hoʻi i Ka Hale Part II: Convening, Networking, and Training Event

March 27 - 28th, 2025

Hoʻi I Ka Hale Part II is a two-day gathering focused on strengthening intergenerational connections, preventing domestic violence, and fostering healing within the ʻohana through Hawaiian cultural values. This event brings together kupuna, keiki, providers, advocates, and community stakeholders to restore traditional family roles, promote nonviolence, and equip participants with tools for building safe, resilient homes and communities. This is an in-person event only and will not be broadcasted.

Day 1: Convening on ʻOhana

This day centers on intergenerational relationships as a foundation for domestic violence prevention and healing. Through keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive conversations, participants will explore the vital roles of kupuna and keiki, the impact of historical trauma, and how traditional Hawaiian values foster safety, respect, and nonviolence within families. Topics include Keiki Kuleana (youth responsibilities), Bridging the Gap (intergenerational healing), and Seeking Truth (acknowledging harm and resilience in family dynamics).

Day 2: Training and Resource Fair

This day provides hands-on training and access to community resources to equip participants—providers, advocates, and ʻohana members—with practical tools to prevent and address domestic violence. Workshops will focus on ʻOhana Kuleana Mapping (power dynamics and shared responsibility in the home) and Growing into Change (mentorship and healing spaces). The resource fair will connect attendees with local and national organizations offering support services, advocacy tools, and culturally grounded approaches to strengthening families.
